iOS 7 battery issues!

iOS7 has been out just over 24 hours and already people are complaining over everything, mainly the battery being drained.  This issue is easily fixed by turning your background image motion off which gives the wallpaper and icons a 3D effect.  To do this go to Settings, Accessibility, and click on reduce motion.

Here are a few other tips to help your battery life in iOS7;

Anything running on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad uses up the battery. So if you've tried everything else and it turns out you're just using your device more than the battery will allow for the length of time you need to use it, you'll need to make some hard choices. You'll need to stop using some of the features you don't really need in order to keep using the ones you do. The more you turn off, the longer your batter will last -- but of course the less you'll be able to do. It's a balancing act but one that can help you squeeze out a little extra juice when you really need it.

  • Turn off Background app and content refresh: Don't waste power downloading things when you don't explicitly need to. Settings, General, Background App Refresh shows you everything you can turn off. Also go to Settings, App Store and turn of automatic app and content downloads.
  • Turn off Siri's Raise to Speak. Go to Settings, General, Siri. Readers keep telling us this has helped them with battery life due to accelerometer issues.
  • Turn off Location Services. Go to Settings, Privacy, Location Services, and turn off any app and system service you really don't need tracking or using your location. Including the new Frequent Locations tracker!
  • Turn off Push Notifications. Likewise, go to Settings, Notifications, and turn off any app you don't care to be alerted about.
  • Turn of Notification Center widgets. Stocks, and particularly weather in Notification Center seem to be causing our readers some battery grief. Since weather can be location-based now, the potential is there for more battery abuse.
  • Quit power hungry apps. Double-click the Home Button to activate the multitasking car view and quit, hold your finger down on power-hungry apps, and then fling them off the screen to close them. This is key for apps like VoIP (like Skype), streaming audio (like Pandora), or navigation (like TomTom). Anything running all the time will drain battery. That's how batteries work.

Peace!!!

Should you get the iPhone 5S??

The iPhone 5S is due shortly for release, and I as many other people, are thinking the same thing, I want it, shall I upgrade early? I'll have two contracts, I'll pay to upgrade early.  All this just to have the iPhone 5S, why?

The only thing that stands out is of course the fingerprint recognition, and the new colour scheme, mainly the gold option.  There is a better camera and a faster processor, and it comes with the new iOS7 pre installed.

If you have an iPhone 4S or earlier model, the iPhone 5S is sure to blow you way, and would be a welcome upgrade.  If you have the iPhone 5 (like me) then the quickness to jump up again so quick is hard to swallow.

I will try and hold out for the iPhone 6, which this time next year will be the new topic of conversation, god only knows what Apple has in store for that device, eye and face recognition would be the way forward so I expect to see that for sure.

We wait in anticipation.

Over to you Apple !!!

iOS7 Official Release!!

So Apple have unveiled there long and anticipated update to there iPhone and iPad software.  iOS7 was officially released yesterday at 6pm to the UK.  If you are trying to update but the update keeps failing be patient, there servers will just be packed with other users trying to update also so bare with it guys.

After having a fiddle round with iOS7 I have to say its gonna take people by surprise, at first you probably won't like it,  but the new ringtones and wallpapers, along with the new 3d icon movement should give your phone a new feel.  There are over 200 new features to the update so after the initial shock, I think you will like it in the end.

Along with IOS7, Apple also revealed there new iPhone 5S and 5C models, not to mention the release of OS X Mavericks, so I'd say it's been a good week for Apple.

Hope you enjoy guys!!!
